On September 5, 1972 terror took the world stage as the peace of the 'Serene' Olympics was shattered at dawn. Arab terrorists armed with submachine guns broke into the living quarters of the Israeli team, killed two men and took nine others hostage. The drama of that day and its tragic ending unfolded for 22 hours live on network TV as the world watched and waited. We hoped for the best and feared the worst.
This catastrophic story is recalled by those who were there and reported it to the world including: Peter Jennings of ABC News, Jim McKay and Roone Arledge of ABC Sports and many others.
